Terms of Service

Effective date: 22 April 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using Squawkd (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Squawkd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Service at squawkd.com. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Squawkd.

2. What Squawkd Is — and Is Not

Squawkd is a planning, tracking, and communication tool for private aircraft owners and co-owners. It is designed to help you organise maintenance schedules, log flights, coordinate with co-owners, track costs, and store documents.

Squawkd is not a substitute for official aviation records. Status indicators, compliance calculations, and notifications within the Service are based solely on data you enter. They do not constitute an official airworthiness determination, maintenance release, Certificate of Release to Service, or any other legally required aviation document under FAA, EASA, or any national aviation authority's regulations.

You remain solely responsible for:

  • Maintaining all official records required by your national aviation authority
  • Ensuring your aircraft is airworthy before flight
  • Complying with all applicable aviation regulations (FAA Part 91, EASA Part-ML, or equivalent)
  • Verifying the accuracy of all data you enter into Squawkd
  • Obtaining proper certificates, maintenance releases, and authorisations from qualified personnel

3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: Squawkd, its operators, contributors, and contractors shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or regulatory consequence — including loss of life, aircraft damage, regulatory fines, or loss of licence — arising from reliance on information displayed in Squawkd, or from any failure, inaccuracy, or omission in the Service.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

In jurisdictions where limitation of liability is restricted by law, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

4. Your Responsibilities

4.1 Accuracy of data

You are responsible for the accuracy of all data entered into Squawkd, including aircraft details, maintenance dates, hobbs readings, and regulatory information. Squawkd cannot verify the accuracy of your inputs.

4.2 Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@squawkd.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4.3 Co-owner syndicates

If you use Squawkd to manage a shared aircraft, you are responsible for ensuring all co-owners are appropriately notified and that data entered accurately reflects the aircraft's actual condition. Squawkd does not mediate disputes between co-owners.

4.4 Document storage

Documents you upload to Squawkd (certificates, maintenance records, insurance documents) are provided for your convenience. Squawkd is not an official document repository and does not guarantee the legal validity of stored documents. You must maintain original records as required by your aviation authority.

5. Subscription and Payment

Some features of Squawkd require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial periods except where required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

6. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Squawkd for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
  • Upload malicious files or content designed to harm the Service or other users
  • Use the Service to manage aircraft for commercial air transport operations without appropriate regulatory oversight
  • Misrepresent maintenance history, airworthiness status, or regulatory compliance to other co-owners or third parties

8. Intellectual Property

The Squawkd platform, its design, code, and content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial aircraft management needs.

You retain ownership of all data you upload to Squawkd. By uploading data, you grant us a limited licence to store and process it for the purpose of providing the Service.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.

Upon termination, you may request an export of your data within 30 days. After that period, your data may be permanently deleted.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

We will always try to resolve any issue directly and promptly. If you have a dispute, contact us first at hello@squawkd.com.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.

For users in the European Union, you may refer unresolved disputes to your local consumer protection authority or relevant national ADR body.
